On September 15 we initiated our monthly meetings with a documentary film with the screening of Werner Herzog’s “Lo and Behold: Reveries of the Connected World”. These meetings shall serve as an introduction to this year’s edition of “Man in Danger”.

Ewa Puszczyńska, the Programme Consultant of the Festival, was a special guest of the meeting.
Before the main screening we presented a documentary by Krzysztof Zanussi titled “Komputery” („Computers”) produced in Wytwórnia Filmów Oświatowych (Educational Films Studio) in Łódź. A film expert, Bartosz Zając, familiarised the viewers with the works of Werner Herzog. – Since 1990s. Herzog has made more documentaries than feature films. They are both perfect and deeply touching and they correspond to action films. His work regularly features the figure of the Misfit, the motif of nature and reflection on it as well as the thread of civilisation which Herzog’s protagonists often try to flee from – said Zając before the screening.
